Production Challenge 09 was a blast and we were so HAPPY to see all of the submissions. That challenge was definitely one that made us stretch a little as producers. We will be jumping to the opposite spectrum of moods for this week as the theme for Production Challenge 10 will be Dark & Minimal!

This week’s production challenge is to write a track that is on the darker side with a minimalistic feel to it. Keep it simple, but convey the feeling.

The key for this week will be in “F” (major or minor) and at 170bpm. Please use at least 5 samples from the free sample pack. There are no more creative constraints beyond that. Have fun, keep it simple, and let’s see what you can do! Click HERE for an inspirational playlist to get started.

Instructions:

1. Join the Gravitas Create Facebook group if you haven’t already: https://www.facebook.com/groups/gravitascreate/
2. Download the curated Sample Pack below.
3. Create a 1:30-2:30 track using at least 5 of the supplied samples in the key of F at 170bpm.
4. Submit the track back to the comments section of the post in the Facebook group.

Gravitas will listen to the all the tracks and the top 3 will be featured on Gravitas Recordings socials (Soundcloud Playlist, FB, Twitter).
